VSS has achieved Investing in Volunteers accreditation
Victim Support Scotland has been awarded the Investing in Volunteers quality standard, recognising the excellent work we do with volunteers.
The Investing in Volunteers award is the gold standard for all organisations involving volunteers, aiming to improve the quality of the volunteering experience for people, and for organisations to acknowledge the enormous contribution volunteers make.
We are delighted that the Investing in Volunteers assessment affirmed good practice throughout the organisation, demonstrating that our volunteers are recruited fairly for meaningful roles, afforded significant training and support, and included in team and organisational activities.
By offering exceptional support to our volunteers, we continually enhance our services and support for victims and witnesses of crime across Scotland. As the diversity of volunteer roles continues to increase, we will ensure that new positions for volunteers meet and exceed the Investing in Volunteers standard.
Chief Executive, Kate Wallace, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have achieved the award, which shows that Victim Support Scotland has volunteering embedded right across the organisation, values volunteers and tailors placements to the individual. We would like to say a big thank you to the volunteers and staff who represented the organisation brilliantly during the assessment, reflecting some excellent work that really does improve the lives of people affected by crime.”
