Hate Crime Conference

On the 28th of September 2017, Victim Support Scotland hosted a conference on hate crime, involving a number of prominent speakers, including The Right Honourable Lord Bracadale who spoke about the ongoing independent review of hate crime legislation in Scotland, engaging the assembled delegates as part of the process.

The conference featured challenging and interesting presentations covering a range of issues around hate crime – including online hate crime, Islamophobia, understanding restorative justice, the unique nature of disability hate crime and intersectionality.

You can read more about the conference on our blog.  Slides from the presentations are available to download here.

The conference was also used as a launch pad for our comprehensive report, ‘Fostering a Victim Centred Approach to Hate Crime in Scotland’, which can be found on our reports page.
